Need Help Paying Your Energy Bills this Heating Season?

LIHEAP Cash & Crisis Programs to Begin on November 5, 2007

Pennsylvania’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps income-eligible energy consumers pay their heating bills through energy assistance grants. You do not have to have an unpaid bill to receive energy assistance, and you can receive these FREE grants without being a welfare recipient. No lien is placed on your property if you receive a grant, and you don’t need to repay anything.

Homeowners or renters whose yearly income before taxes is at or less than the guidelines listed below are eligible for LIHEAP cash/crisis:

For each additional person, add $5220

To be eligible for free Cash grant, you must be responsible for home heating costs – you don’t need to owe money on your bill.

What you need to Apply:

Proof of income for all family members
Names, birth dates and Social Security numbers of all people living in your house
A recent UGI-PNG heating bill

To be eligible for a free $300 Crisis grant, you must have an emergency situation and are in danger of losing their heat. You may contact your local county assistance office for more information.
